melvin|kernan was
hired by Gloucester County Improvement Authority to prepare a preliminary
investigation to designate an area of Monroe Township, that included
a landfill, along Williamstown-Sicklerville Road as an area in need of
redevelopment. m|k was also contracted to
prepare the Redevelopment Plan. The site analysis included review
of the environs, carrying capacity of the land and best fit contextual
land uses. m|k prepared a vision statement, land use plan, circulation
plan and design criteria for the redevelopment of the site. In
addition typical architectural prototypes were developed to show the
potential assortment mix-use residential and commercial that could be
accommodated as well as the parking infrastructure and open space required
for such a development.
